****************************************************mportant: Etebac3 is replaced by EBICS

The CFONB (French Committee for Banking Standards and Organisation) defined ETEBAC, file transfer protocol between companies and banks in the 80's.

Etebac3 today is obsolete because it does not include the new formats of SEPA payment instruments (XML).

Etebac3 is replaced by a new standard of exchange bank: EBICS (clik here fir details...)

Teletransmissions are more and more used for the exchange of information between Banks and their clients. Not only is the availability of data reduced by this process, but both the security and confidentiality are greatly improved, over that of other magnetic media transfers.

All the banks now propose electronic file transfers to their clients (account statements, account transfers...) bidirectionally, depending on the file type. As the list of proposed services can differ depending on the banks and will evolve over time; it is therefore recommanded that they be asked to provide the latest list of services.

These electronic data transfers are governed by ETEBAC interbank standard (transfers between the banks and their clients). ETEBAC is defined by the French Committee for Banking Standards (CFONB), and distributed by the French Banking Association (AFB).

The five versions of ETEBAC's protocol define the dialogue modes between the information processing systems of the banks and those of their clients.
