Etebac
5 is
an "improved" version of ETEBAC 3 which allows,
moreover, an authentification of the client.
It is thus possible, starting from a computer, not only to
transfer information, but also to send a true "signature"
having the same convincing value as a handwritten signature.
However, it is
significant to specify that Etebac 5 requires the identification
of the customer by a smart card. But
as the almost totality of the transfers between Clients and Banks
are effected at night (for econonic reasons), it seems more comprehensible
that few companies use Etebac5 even if this protocol would
be synonymous to ‘authetification’ because a manual intervention
is necessary to be effected by the customer.
